2007–2016 Models: Replacing the 9003 Bulb
The iFixit guide for this generation shows the clip release with photos if you need a visual reference.
- Open the hood. Pull the release lever inside the driver’s door, then the secondary lever under the Honda emblem, and prop the hood open.
- Move the fuse box (driver side only). Push the tabs and slide the fuse box off its holder to gain room. This step is optional but saves frustration.
- Disconnect the electrical plug. Push the tabs and pull the connector straight off the bulb base.
- Remove the rubber boot. Pry it outward and pull it off the housing.
- Release the metal clip. Push down and lift the small wire clip to swing it out of the way.
- Pull out the old bulb. It has alignment tabs — it only comes out one way. Pull straight, not at an angle.
- Install the new bulb. Hold it by the plastic base only — never touch the glass. Insert with the tab facing up, then push the metal clip down until it hooks securely.
- Reassemble. Slide the plug back onto the prongs, reattach the rubber boot, and reseat the fuse box on its tabs.
2017–2022 Models: Replacing the H11 and 9005 Bulbs
- Open the hood using the same two-lever process and secure it with the prop rod.
- Remove the washer tube. Use a flathead screwdriver to pop the clip holding the tube. Pull the center of the clip out gently, then twist and pull the tube free.
- Disconnect the electrical connector. Press the tab and pull the plug away from the bulb.
- Twist out the old bulb. Turn it counterclockwise (left) to loosen it, then pull it straight out.
- Insert the new bulb. Align the tabs with the socket slots — it only fits one way. Push it in until it sits flush, then twist clockwise (right) to lock it.
- Reconnect the plug. Align the tab side of the connector, slide it onto the bulb, and press until you hear a click.
- Reinstall the washer tube. Twist the tube back into place and secure the clip.
