Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “UPDATE: the unit won’t work if you don’t do updates. It works fine once you do updates.I am getting various transmission codes. I’ve researched the forums and YouTube. This allowed me to look at the specific codes (P0843, P0877, P0751, etc) and the components. I was able to look at all my shift solenoids, Pressure switch’s, and trans temperature at the same time. It was 15F outside and I was able to see the trans temperature read 80F, and if I cleared the code and shifted it went to limp mode, and then the transmission read -40F. I’m replacing the Pressure Switch assembly (ALLISON TRANSMISSION 29546972 PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY 5-SPEED & 6-SPEED 01-18) and expect the temperature to read correctly. The gauge reads correctly today after clearing the code.I bought this for my Chevy 2500 with a Duramax engine to read a code. Basic code readers were giving me a generic code (P0700) and this was snow to give me more specific detail (shift solenoid 2) as well as the ability to move monitor data. Similar to my CTS Edge scanner it can show balance rates, and SOOOO much more. It was worth the $150 for figuring out my error code so I could research potential solutions (low fluid, frayed wires, bad harness) instead of constantly having a no shift problem. Some say the software stops working in a few months, but after two days of playing with it I’m happy for the one time.It automatically detects your vin. Also, it stores stuff on servers in China (if you couldn’t tell by the price) so if you want USA made this isn’t it. If you shop at Walmart, Target, or Auto Zone you’ll be right at home. This is not a programmer. It won’t turn off features you don’t like. It could help diagnose a misfire, monitor transmission or engine coolant temps, tell you the flow plug status, etc.”

Customer Review: “I’ve been using this Launch CRP123E Android Elite scan tool as a mechanic for various vehicles, and I’ve never encountered any issues when it comes to reading and resetting codes. It’s perfect for do-it-yourself mechanics, offering a wide range of diagnostic tests and highly detailed live data. The ability to graph and compare components, along with the 4in1 live data graphing display, allows for precise analysis. Saving data before and after repairs, along with the auto VIN search, makes vehicle-specific codes easily recognizable. I cannot emphasize enough how great my experience has been with their exceptional customer service. They truly go the extra mile to serve their customers, setting a standard that is hard to match. Purchasing this scanner is a win-win situation—saving money by performing my own repairs while having access to unmatched customer support. I am a LAUCNH customer for life! This crp123e scanner has successfully helped me relearn idle and reset the throttle body, and it worked perfectly. Here are some of the Good of this Launch crp123e scanner :1.The removable OBDII Diagnostic cord is more than long enough.2.The touch screen is large and well backlit, making it suitable for sunny conditions.3.The rechargeable battery lasts over 10 hours on a single charge, allowing for convenient use without being plugged into an OBD2 port all the time.4.Lifetime WiFi online updates, avoiding the hassle of PC updates like my previous scanner.5.The ability to export vehicle reports as PDF/CSV and easily email them to myself—this feature is a personal favorite.6.With functions like oil lamp reset, idle relearn, and SAS calibration, along with these 3 lifetime free reset functions, this tool meets all my daily repair and maintenance needs for my family’s vehicles—I am more than satisfied serving my family.7.The Google browser code search function allows me to directly connect to abundant online DTC code information, eliminating guesswork and facilitating my work.8.The DTC help/Repair tip functions have also been incredibly useful, providing detailed explanations, probable causes, and troubleshooting guidance for each Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) generated during a scan.9.It covers over 60 car brands globally, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of vehicles.10.The device comes with a carrying bag for convenient storage.11.The customer support is considerate and prompt, address my concerns in a timely manner.Overall, I highly recommend this scan tool for its exceptional performance, extensive features, and outstanding customer support. • Tracks and manages multiple vehicles
Cons:
  • Full features require paid subscription
  • Requires smartphone to operate
  • Some pending codes may show as unknown

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Great product worth every penny app is a bit pricey if your not going to use it often but a must have tool for car repair tells you codes and exact issues also tells you step by step how to fix it. As well as an AI mechanic to asked question and call support as well it helps you know a price range for shops so you don’t get over charged for repairs. I used it yesterday when looking at a car which had no codes on the dash FIXD told me the pending codes and also made me aware the codes were recently cleared which gave me such piece of mind. Knowing a serious community de was cleared prior to me looking at the vehicle. I’ve decided to pay for the year subscription”

Customer Review: “This little item works great, but it has a small caveat if you want its full functionality. As OBDII scanners go, this one does the job at a fraction of the price of a professional scanner. It shows all the information on the screen in an easy to set up software with an intuitive menu. Easy for even the least mechanically inclined people to use. However, you’ll need a separate iPhone, iPad, or Android device to install the app onto.It color codes the issues as to their importance. Green means you should be fine and it’s more of a suggestion than an issue, Yellow means check it out soon or have a mechanic take a look, Red means you should probably stop driving your car and set it on fire. Just kidding. But the information is displayed fully with the OBDII codes along with the explanations as to what they are. In my case, there was a Stored Code and a few Pending Codes. The Stored Code defined what the code is, however the Pending Codes showed ‘Unknown Issue’. I had to go online later to look them up. There’s also an option to clear the dash lights that did not work for me. So does the scanner work? Definitely. Is it worth it? Probably not, and here’s why.The caveat I mentioned? You have to purchase their Premium version at a yearly fee of $99.00 if you want to unlock the scanner’s full potential. It includes;”Cost and repair estimates from the Identifix database, Unlimited calls to our FIXD Mechanic Hotline for a trusted second opinion and DIY help from our network of ASE certified mechanics, And much more! FIXD Premium is a monthly subscription that is optional and is not required for use of the sensor.”After the purchase price of $37, that makes this little bugger $137 right off the bat, with an additional $99/year after that. However, they do let you try it free for one week (cancel at any time). If you’re using this scanner for multiple vehicles, and you’re getting paid for it, then you might find the fee not so much of an inconvenience. However, if you’re like me and are only using it on your daily driver, how often do you think you’re going to use it to qualify that fee? I used it this once, found the codes, and now it’ll probably sit on a shelf until the next time the need arises for it. And since I’m mechanically inclined, I can resolve the issues on my own. But, again, “the subscription is optional and is not required for use of the sensor.”If you want a scanner that offers more functionality with no extra costs involved then purchase one of those instead. But if you’re an average Joe or Jolene and you just want to see why your car has those dash lights always on, then this little guy does the job just fine.”

Complete Buying Guide for Best Multi Car Obd2 Scanner

Essential Factors We Consider

When choosing the best multi car OBD2 scanner, compatibility is key. Make sure the scanner supports all OBD2 protocols and works with your vehicle’s make and model. Features like live data monitoring, battery testing, and multi-system diagnostics add value. Connectivity options matter too; Bluetooth scanners paired with smartphone apps offer convenience, while standalone devices are simpler but less flexible. User interface and display clarity impact ease of use, especially for beginners. Finally, consider update policies to keep your scanner current with new vehicle codes and features.

Budget Planning

OBD2 scanners range from basic code readers under $40 to advanced multi-system diagnostic tools that can cost several hundred dollars. Set a budget based on how you plan to use the scanner. For occasional DIY checks, a budget-friendly model with basic features might suffice. If you want extensive diagnostics, multi-system coverage, and frequent updates, investing in a mid to high-range scanner is wise. Don’t forget to factor in any ongoing app subscription fees if applicable.
