You will need a 7/8″ socket, 7mm and 18mm sockets, a T20 Torx driver, a fuel line disconnect tool set, a long flat-head screwdriver, a ball-peen hammer, a transmission jack or 15″ wood block to support the tank, and an air compressor with a blow gun to clean the tank top.

1. Relieve fuel system pressure. Remove fuel pump relay #58 from the fuse box so the pump cannot run while the system is open.
2. Remove the rear wheel. Use the 7/8″ socket on the side where the tank sits to reach the filler tube and tank straps.
3. Detach the filler tube. Loosen the 7mm clamp on the filler hose, disconnect it, and remove the three screws securing the fuel filler neck. Push the neck into the bed.
4. Support the tank. Place the jack or wood block under the tank before unbolting anything.
